ontd_p is keeping me up to date on the iran sitution, along with a helpful billboard at london bridge. apparntly, things are going tits up, witch i could have prodicted but...

the death toll in iran has risen, although protests have not been broken. last night, if i rember correctly, the figer was 31 and 100 injured. this figer will only rise. further, mosavi has told people to keep on rollin, so things will only get bloodyer. some people are comparing this to the ninteen seventy nine islamic revlotion that put the current system in power.

some polling data has surgested that amadajads win might be genunie. however, this can not and dose not excuses the brutel oppresion that has been under taken by the regim. things are only going to get worse befor thay get beter.

blogging and disnonce

the resent sitution in iran has be coulered by the contued use and attampt to deny cyberspace by both sides. befor the results were annoced, text messageing was shut down by the goverment. irian disidense circemvented these, and has been useing blogs and, most markedly, twitter to report and orgnise things. DDoS attacks have been made aginst irian goverment sites.

theres little qustion that its a fix job. the election, touted as close, ended with a landslide for armadinajahd. together with things like shutting down text messageing, the whole thing reeks, along with spotted irgulritys, and the removel of monitors from the election. however, this hasnt stop iranian disiens from expressing the angry at the fix job, and it has been the power of the blog that has alowed that.

in the end, the blogger will always get through. in a cyber space war aginst the people, with the exeption of shutting down the internet and phone lines (56k, is that you?) it is imposble to stop the people from talking. encription seresly outstrips deception, and it take a 200 buck pc and a 30 buck book to code a program capple of fouling up the security services attampts to foil you, and nothing to put it where everyone can get it.

good luck iran. things are moveing. but you'll still need it.

good luck.

so i was watching the ghost in the shell movie intro, cos i like the music, and i consdered the qustion of robot bodys.

<lj-embed id="48" />

now, this is intresting. when i talk about robot bodys, i mean the transfer of concness from man to mechein, GITS style. now, there are postive and negtive sides. on the one hand, the body would be far harder, the consesness far more secure, and the abilty to do awsom stuff to your, like make it a swise army knife with cool stuff on.

this lends its self to a very pratical look, but opens its self up to other issues. if the human body interfaces with technolgy GITS or cyberpunk style, then the possblty to change a human by tweeking the sorce code comes in. also, there are issues of sprituality involved along with the problems of insecurity of self.

so, have a pole

View Poll: #1394306

so, if your reading the daily mail at least, WHERE ALL GOING TO DIE IN A TIDE OF FLU PIGS WHO WILL SHOOT US WITH THERE LASER EYES!!!

i want to bitch about this becous the mail had, i shit thee not, SWINE FLU: IT IS HERE

way to scare peeps. now, swine flu has shown signs of being dangure. there about 150 fatailtys in mexico, witch has been given a 200 million doller loan to the country to fight it, and the WHO has said that this is likely to hit pandemic levels, i belive (it was on the radio when i woke up, so...). however, the country of the world have been shitting them selfs in to prepairedness over flu. there are stock piles of anti viral drugs. the brutality of thesre flu epedemics have declined not just becous of atenutation of virces, but also becous of the leaps made in medicen

to temper this, of corse, is that travel takes less then a day to any part of the world. this is why pandemic conditions are so likely to hit. but all in all, i dont think, relteve to such things, this is a major threat. i sertenly think that the mails headline is useless and unhelpful.
