this is a repost of a frinds post. im in the dark, and seeking aid, for her. i KNOW i know geeks in this area. all help apricated.
----
I have a problem with my Asus EEE 701 and Mozilla/Firefox connection; I can get my Asus to connect (enabled) to wireless LANs both open access and encryted. When I connect to encrypted networks, with their keys, Mozilla works fine. However, whenever I try to connect to open access LANs, Firefox always says 'Server Not Found, Firefox cannot find the server at (any site I try)'........
I know the connection to the network works. I know Firefox *can* work. But why will it not work with open access LANs?
If anyone can give me something to try, I would be extremely grateful (and if giving me advice, assume I am an idiot who speaks next-to no compter at all, because it's true). |
